FAQ

Organized by topic. If you cannot find an answer, start with Troubleshooting or contact support.

Points & Setup

What is the difference between 6, 8 and 10 points?

The difference is the number of trackers and the body points that can be assigned. 6 points is the recommended setup for first-time use; 8 and 10 points add more points but require more stable wearing, assignment and calibration. Complete a stable 6-point setup first, then add more points.

Why do you recommend starting with 6 points?

6 points makes it easier to understand tracker orientation, body-part assignment, full reset and wearing calibration. Starting directly with 8 or 10 points makes it harder to diagnose upside-down, loose or mis-calibrated trackers.

Can I buy a single extra tracker later?

Yes. First confirm with support that your existing tracker model, receiver and firmware versions are compatible. Before ordering, also confirm: whether the original order number is needed, whether an add-on price applies, whether straps and clips are included, and how shipping is calculated. After adding the device, you need to pair, assign the point in SlimeVR and calibrate — see Buy & Add-on and Add or Replace Trackers.

Device Compatibility

Do I need base stations?

No. The trackers communicate with the computer through the included 2.4G receiver and do not depend on any tracking base stations. Follow this manual to connect the receiver, power on the trackers and configure SlimeVR.

Which headsets work?

The product works through SteamVR, so any headset that supports SteamVR streaming or direct connection (for example common models like the Quest series, PICO series and VIVE series) can be used. Before purchasing, confirm that your headset can run VRChat through SteamVR normally.

Will I get full-body tracking right after buying the trackers?

Not by itself. The trackers only supplement the body points — head and hand tracking must come from a VR headset and controllers. If you do not have a headset yet, we recommend playing VRChat with one for a while before considering this product.

Can I connect via WiFi without plugging in the receiver?

No. This product must communicate with the computer through the dedicated 2.4G wireless receiver. It does not support WiFi direct connection, and the trackers do not need their own network configuration.

Can trackers be mixed with receivers of other models or brands?

No. Trackers and receivers must be paired to work together and can only be used with a receiver of the same model from this product line. After replacing a receiver, you need to re-pair.

Software & Pairing

What software do I need after buying the trackers?

At minimum SlimeVR; for PC VR and VRChat, you usually also need SteamVR and VRChat. Installation and first-time setup can be found in SlimeVR Software.

Are the trackers and receiver paired at the factory?

Yes, under normal circumstances. If you replace a device, clear the receiver pairing records, or a new device is not recognized, follow Add or Replace Trackers.

Calibration & Maintenance

Do I need to calibrate the gyroscope before every use?

No. Gyroscope zero-bias calibration is normally done after first use, after firmware maintenance, or when something is clearly wrong. Before each use, complete a full reset and wearing calibration in SlimeVR.

Does the magnetometer have environment requirements? Should it be enabled normally?

The magnetometer is off by default and enabling it is not recommended for regular use. Only enable it when the magnetic environment is stable and a support engineer confirms it is needed. The firmware must be at least the version dated 2026-06-04 or later, and you should stay away from speakers, motors, magnets and large metal structures. See Magnetometer Test.

Network Environment

Does it work on a campus or university network?

Yes. This product uses a dedicated receiver for communication and the trackers do not need network configuration, so the campus network does not directly affect the trackers. The only requirement is that your computer can stream VRChat through SteamVR normally. If your computer cannot join the campus network or cannot stream, fix the computer's networking and streaming first.

What are the network requirements?

The trackers themselves do not use WiFi and place no extra requirements on your network during normal use. What matters is the streaming path between the computer and the VR headset (router and streaming software) — as long as streaming is stable, tracking works normally.

Batteries & Shipping

Check the actual policy

Before purchasing, repair shipping or cross-border forwarding, confirm the latest rules with support. The items below are general guidance, not a final commitment.

Can it be shipped by SF Express?

Devices containing lithium batteries cannot go by air freight. SF Express normally uses ground shipping, with little difference in delivery time compared to regular couriers. The exact policy depends on the courier at the time of shipping.

Can I take it on a plane?

Whether you can carry it depends on the local airport rules for devices containing lithium batteries. Battery capacity can be found in Product Info.

Can repair returns or cross-border forwarding use air freight?

Devices containing batteries usually cannot be shipped by air. For cross-border forwarding, choose sea or ground freight, otherwise the package may be returned and cause extra fees. Before shipping for repair, contact support to confirm the process.

When You Have a Problem

What should I do first when something goes wrong?

Start with Troubleshooting and change only one setting at a time, re-checking the result. If it is still unresolved, send the firmware version, SlimeVR version, indicator-light state, reproduction steps and video to support.
